“The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.”
–Jeremiah 8:20–

With Summer’s End having just passed us with the passing of September 22, and with traditional Harvest-time about to be past also in merely a matter of weeks, people’s thoughts tend to turn to hues of orange, red, yellow, green, and brown.  Pumpkins, fall leaves, cooler temperatures, shorter days and longer nights—all of these become more pressing on one’s awareness of the current yet fleeting season.  How often, though, do we pause to consider the lost souls around us?  How many times do we ponder that the harvest is truly ripe right now for men’s souls, but that the window may soon be closing with a surely imminent rapture—any day even… who knows!   This colorful season, take in the scenery no doubt, since God intends it for our enjoyment.  However, don’t forget to see with the eyes of faith, into eternity!

“Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.”
—Lamentations 1:12—
